[RAPEX] Overview of RAPEX notifications in August 2017

In accordance with the General Product Safety Directive 2001/95/EC (GPSD) and Regulation 765/2008, in August 2017 the European Commission validated 175 notifications1 on dangerous products and transmitted them to the Member States (EU Member States and EEA-EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). Most of these concerned products presenting serious risk: 158 notifications (90%). 6 notifications (3%) concerned products presenting less than serious risk and 11 notifications (6%) were circulated for information.

[RASFF] Overview of RASFF FCM notifications in August 2017

The European Commission validated 309 RASFF notifications this month, including 280 notifications on food, accounting for 90.61%; 21 notifications on feed, accounting for 9.06%; 8 notifications on food contact materials (FCMs), accounting for 2.59%, in which 8 products from China are contained, accounting for 100.00%.

[AQSIQ] Monthly overview report of AQSIQ notifications on imported goods in July 2017

General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) validated notifications on 53 batches of imported industrial goods, which were found non-compliant during inspection and quarantine process at the entry ports of China. They have not been offered for sale on the China market yet and are re-dispatched or destroyed instead according to laws.
