Furniture Testing

Furniture is the mass noun for the movable objects intended to support various human activities such as seating (e.g., chairs, stools, tables and sofas) and sleeping (e.g., beds). Furniture is also used to hold objects at a convenient height for work (as horizontal surfaces above the ground, such as tables and desks), or to store things (e.g., cupboards and shelves). Undoubtedly, it constitutes an integral part of our daily life.

Chinese exporters of furniture primarily export their products to the markets such as the United States, Japan and European Union, where there is a rising concern on the environmental protection. The countries impose stringent requirements on chemical properties of furniture and raw materials thereof (e.g., wood, artificial board, plastic, metal, glass, adhesive, coating and packaging) by technical standards. Bans are also in place on toxic and hazardous substances in textile and leather parts of furniture and in its manufacturing process.
