On 5 April 2019, the Official Journal of the European Union issued a notice approving the application for authorization on the use of substances listed in annex XIV of REACH regulation. Due to its carcinogenic and mutagenic properties, Chromium trioxide was listed as a candidate in 2010. EU also accepted the application by French company for industrial use of 1,2-dichloroethane as a solvent for the synthesis of polyepichlorohydrin used as a precursor in the production of glycidyl azide polymer.
